ECUDARE (Ecumenical Day Care and Support Women Project) in Kenya provides healthcare, counselling and income-generation projects for women and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Murrayfield Churches Together (MCT) has supported Ecudare since 2009.
Over the past eight years we have funded goats, water tanks, mosquito nets, mattresses, school desks, text books, crockery, solar lighting for homes and hygiene products for orphaned girls. Ecudare has also used funding for training and to develop small businesses. Our recent support has been for Ecudare’s school which provides free pre-school and primary education for children whose families cannot afford education.
Some of our fundraising activities have the added benefit of enabling increased fellowship amongst MCT members such as our strawberry teas. The Murrayfield Club has also supported fundraising. We have Christmas virtual gifts and have sold Christmas decorations made by the Ecudare women.
For more information see the Ecudare page of the MCT website.
